Delerium乐队是由Rhys Fulber，Bill Leeb组成的。这支乐队采集了世界上最不寻常的声音作为其音乐的核心（例如在加拿大的范库弗峰寻找灵感），并用它们来制作音乐的采样，分析模仿成为Bass乐谱等等。乐队虽然以这种世界化的曲风不断完善着自己的创作，但是最终他们没有成为一支世界音乐乐队，而是成为了一支风格偏向氛围化的电子乐队。
　　虽然Rhys Fulber在Delerium中扮演的舞曲程序编写角色与他之前所在的一些高能朋克/工业乐队中的角色是天壤之别，但是他的才华还是让Delerium 1997年发行的首张专辑Karma在全球范围内获得了巨大的成功，总销售量超过了250万张。这对于一个非主流的乐队来说是一个十分令人惊喜的销售成绩。同时这张专辑的热门单曲Silence（安静）在英格兰的排行榜上入选三甲，在爱尔兰夺得榜首。
　　在Delerium乐队解散之后，Fulber又为一些其他类型的音乐人担任起了制作人的角色，其中包括POD，Sarah Brightman，David Foster，Fear Factory。2001年，Delerium乐队重组，并推出专辑Poem，两年后再次发行新专辑Chimera。2004年，出版了一张Delerium的精选专辑。
　　就Delerium的音乐本身来看，他们更加偏向于由Ibiza的Cafe del Mar倡导的Chill Out风格。只是由于乐队成员先前的摇滚经历使得他们在把握情绪上增加了一些更能够让人找到冲动的理由和途径。他们的Bass Line一般都会铺得比较厚实，而且键盘的程序也会做得更重，从节奏上把握住缓拍中最深沉的部分使得人们轻易进入他们的氛围环境。
　　他们区别于其他Chill Out乐队最明显的地方就是融合了大量的民族音乐元素。而在融合民族元素的电子音乐之中，更多的体现是在Lounge风格之中。Lounge音乐更多地是表现一种室内的舒适感，而Delurium的音乐则大不相同，强调表现宏大的自然景象。同样，Delerium明确地把自己的路拓宽到DJ方向，类似Paul Oakenfold，Tiesto等大牌DJ及舞曲制作人都乐于对Delerium的作品进行Remix。

To further expand their digital exploration and satisfy their alter egos Leeb and Fulber created Delerium a seemingly darker, atmospheric, instrumental side to their FLA. Faces, Forms and Illusions is their first installment for the side project.

专辑曲目

1. Monuments of Deceit 4:17
This first track is a good representation for the whole album. Consisting of somewhat heavy bass drum with random clacks and hits. Gregorian chants and synths give this song dark untone.
2. Mecca 4:21
A strong bass line starts out with three variations of strings that follow up. Samples and noises are scattered about. It a more upbeat sci-fi sound.
3. Inside the Chamber 6:19
This track opens with a helicopter sample which spacey sound and sample follow. More sharp noises and simple synth line pop up here and there. This song is REALLY atmospheric. The samples and sound effects make it worth listening to.
4. Sword of Islam 4:12
You know those delerium songs that literally start from nothing and slowly build up to something grand? Well here's Delerium's first one. Beginning with simple synths and delays it builds up to strings aboriginal samples drums and ensembles.
5. New Dawn 4:52
A spacey intro is met with water samples, forest horns and chimey sound effects. This track is simple but sounds lush, very calming to listen to like running water. Not as dark as the others.
6. Certain Trust 5:09
Great melodic synth, you can really feel Rhys at work here. Some west indian female samples with the addition of a simple break beat to add to the flavour.
7. Strangeways 5:16
Another strongly ambient track held together with noises, samples and an almost irritating militia drum beat. Not much dimension to this one.
8. Subvert/Wired Archives/Sieg of Atrocity 19:56
Twenty minutes of three songs that could easily hold their own. To this day I don't know why there mixed together. Subvert is an eerie track. It combines the harshness and darkness with somewhat pretty synths and strings. Wired Archives tends to give off the FLA feel with a straight drum, synth bass and political samples. Sieg of Atrocity despite the title is damn nice track. Melodic synths and 'baby bells' give a more welcoming feel. A strong bass and snare build up and more political samples end this lengthy track.
9. Dark Star 10:03
Bonus track on Hypnotic re-release.
